Check the manufacturer guidance
Some automatic vehicles must not be towed with driven wheels on the road, or may have strict limits on distance and speed. All-wheel-drive and newer vehicles can have additional restrictions. Consult the owner’s manual or manufacturer rather than assuming neutral makes towing safe.
Tell the recovery provider what you drive
Provide the make, model, year if known, drivetrain, whether the car starts and any damage. Mention if it is locked in Park, has electronic parking brakes or cannot roll. These details help discuss a suitable loading and transport arrangement.
Do not force the vehicle to move
If the transmission or wheels are damaged, do not drag or push the car to make it easier to load. Ask for advice and confirm how the vehicle will be handled before transport begins.
