Check for injuries and immediate danger
If anyone is injured, there is a hazard or you are unsure what to do, call 112 or 999 and follow emergency-service instructions. Move to a safe place only if you can do so without increasing risk. Do not stand in a live lane.
Follow reporting and insurance requirements
Exchange details and document the scene when it is safe and appropriate. Follow Garda, insurer and road-authority instructions. Do not admit liability or move a damaged vehicle if authorities advise otherwise.
Arrange transport if the car should not be driven
Tell the recovery provider the exact location, vehicle condition, visible damage, whether wheels can roll and steer, and the intended destination. Mention fluid leaks, blocked wheels or access limits. Agree the transport plan and price directly before the vehicle is moved.
