Notice what happens when you try
Do dashboard lights appear? Do you hear clicking, or does the engine turn without starting? Note any warning message or recent change. These observations can help a provider discuss suitable assistance, but they do not establish a diagnosis.
Avoid risky battery work
Do not attempt a jump start if you are uncertain about the vehicle instructions, battery condition or connection points. Never work beside moving traffic. Tell the provider if the vehicle is hybrid or electric, as the manufacturer’s procedures may differ.
Prepare details for a call
Share your exact location, make and model, symptoms, warning lights and whether the vehicle is in a car park or restricted space. Explain whether it can roll and steer. The provider can discuss whether roadside help or transport is suitable.
